GFC SciTech: The STEAM Unit at Greene
GFC SciTech will bring 6th and 7th grade campers that love STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and/or Math – together to focus on their passions while living in a Jewish summer camp community. The program will combine intensive STEAM activities with all the benefits of Greene Family Camp’s 300 acre campus in the heart of Texas.
The program will take place in our newly renovated Epstein Science Center! More information and pictures to come.
Campers will spend 3 hour in a day in a core interest – a STEAM subject that they are truly passionate about taught by experts in that field. Campers will also get to experience activities like our Challenge Course, Lake Jake and our two pools, and sports and arts activities taught by specialists in their fields.
Our camp is ideal for a science setting. Campers can analyze the physics of a ropes course – what angle produces the best thrill on the swing? They’ll learn about projectile motion on the blob. They’ll learn about Israeli farming at our organic garden. They’ll check out the ph level of our lake and pool, and analyze the make up in different conditions. And so much more!
Sample Schedule coming soon!
Core focuses may include:
- 3D printing
- Solar Science
- Weather Forecasting
- Coding – Python, Java, TI rovers
- CNC mastery
Stay tuned for more information! We are so excited for you to join us this summer
