At Greene Family Camp, there are so many activities to do during the day. From joining a soccer scrimmage, shooting off a rocket in STEAM, to making a glass mezuzah in art class, the options are endless. In addition to our typical chug (sport) and hagigah (art) activities, we also have plenty of adventure activities that make the Greene experience full of new opportunities!

GFC Alum to Lead Reform Rabbis’ Conference
Greene Family Camp is “Shepping Naches” these days. That is Yiddish for “crowing with pride!” Our very own Rabbi Ron Segal has become President of the Central Conference of American Rabbis – The CCAR.
The Future is NOW! GFC Construction Update
Cabin A is now complete! New floor space has been added thanks to built-in storage cubbies and windows. All exterior walls have been replaced with weather- resistant Hardieplank along with a fresh, multi-colored paint job. The cabin has also had blow-in foam insulation added and a new roof.
Meet the 2019-2020 NFTY-TOR Regional Board Candidates
The teen Spring Kallah track at Spring Camp will feature the very best our region has to offer with spirited and musical Shabbat celebrations, fun and interactive teen-led mixers and programs, and an unforgettable NFTY Prom and “After Prom” Kikar Party that will feature a glow-in-the-dark silent disco, a foam tent, and interactive video game truck as well as a food truck and Steel City Pops. Amid great programming and enjoying time on camp, we will be celebrating the senior class and welcoming 8th graders into our NFTY-TOR community.
GFC Goes To Washington: RAC L’Taken Seminar
The weekend of March 1st, teens from GFC joined with teens from across the United States for the L’Taken Seminar, a social justice weekend in Washington DC hosted by the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism. The social justice weekends combine hands-on Jewish learning and advocacy in our nation’s capitol. Throughout the weekend, teens visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, they join together with over 400 participants for a spiritual Havdalah experience at the Jefferson Memorial, and they learn about the Jewish Reform movement’s stance on social justice issues.
Meet Michaela Rollins, GFC’s new Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications
Michaela began her journey with GFC in 2001 as a Bonim camper, and over the last 18 years has grown through each unit and worked as a counselor and Leadership Team member. She will begin working as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications at the end of the month.
NFTY Convention comes to Dallas!
NFTY Convention was a unique and exciting opportunity for our Reform Jewish high school teens to gather from across North America to explore, learn, grow, and have fun together! We welcomed the largest delegation in our region’s history to NFTY Convention which was in our own backyard (Dallas!). We asked two NFTY-TORites to share with us their reflections on the exciting weekend!

Being a camp counselor at GFC is much more than hanging out with kids all day. It involves problem-solving, collaborating, communicating with people at all levels, being creative to how you engage campers, crediting camp magic and being a camper’s superhero. As a camp counselor, you’ll work harder than you ever have before… but it’s the most rewarding and fulfilling job out there. You might end each day physically and mentally exhausted, but you’ll also end your days with a full heart and sense of purpose. So, what is it really like to be a camp counselor?
