It’s hot!

We are a camp in Texas and that means it gets HOT during the summer. Make sure to pack your camper with a water bottle, lots of sunscreen, hat and clothes that are comfortable for running around in hot temperatures. While all of our inside buildings are air conditioned, we still spend plenty of time in the great outdoors.

We promise our counselors and leadership are great at making sure that campers stay hydrated, and wear their hats and sunscreen.

Shabbat Clothes

What do our campers wear on Shabbat? We recommend that campers wear a white top or dress. It does not have to be dressy, campers should still be comfortable wearing their Shabbat clothes outside for services. There is no dress code for Saturday mornings.

Bathing Suit Policy

Make sure to read through our swimsuit policy before buying or packing bathing suits for your camper this summer!

Bunk Activities

If you want to pack activities for your camper to do with their bunkmates in their downtime – think of something the whole bunk can share throughout the summer. Check out this fun video from the Foundation for Jewish Camp for ideas.

Soft Luggage

Because we don’t have room in the bunks to store trunks or hard luggage, please pack your camper’s things in soft sided luggage like duffles so that it’s easier to store the luggage for later.

We Have Drawers/Shelves

No need for plastic shelves! We have plenty of shelving and cubbies in our cabins.

Camp Store

Want your child to have some GFC swag? Our camp store will be open on Opening Day! Your child will also get a t-shirt on Opening Day and Closing Day of camp.

Pack with your camper.

We recommend packing and unpacking with your camper to make sure they know where everything is and what is being packed.

Check out our New Parent Webinars for additional packing advice and other information to get you and your family all set for camp!

We can’t wait to see you at camp! Happy packing!
