Over the course of two years (Summer 2016, Winter 2016, and Summer 2017), fellows travel to the following URJ camps: Coleman, Crane Lake, Eisner, and Harlam. Along with the Olim Fellows from these other four camps, fellows become one Olim Fellowship community, learning from and having fun with one another.

At GFC, we pride ourselves on planning and facilitating programs to help our community learn and grow. But in order for us to be the best that we can be for our camp, our campers and teens, and our year-round programs, we as directors also must take the time to learn and grow.

In the parsha Tetzaveh, God lays out the instructions to Moses to build the Tabernacle. In the portion, there are lists of things to wear, how to adorn the temple, and how to build up from nothing something new and beautiful.

For every college student,
Each one must decide,
What to do with their summers,
They explore options far and wide.
Some wish to spend a summer at home,
Or travel all around.
Some hope to find big internships,
Or just bum around down town.

We are so excited that our Family Retreat is just around the corner! There are many, many reasons why we can’t wait for the retreat to be here already. And, we’re going to share one of them with you right now!

When thinking back on our favorite parts of the summer, we kept coming back to one thing: the farm. From horseback riding to taking care of the puppies, there’s nothing better than spending a day by the barn.
