Dear GFC Community,

We are very happy to announce that the URJ Greene Family Camp has named Ethan Lane-Miller as Assistant Director. He will be based out of the Dallas area.

Ethan is a native Texan who grew up at Adat Chaverim in Plano, TX. He attended Southwestern University before returning home to Plano where he took on all sorts of roles in Dallas Jewish life: he was a NFTY advisor for Adat Chaverim, a substitute teacher and assistant at Akiba and Yavneh Academy of Dallas, a Dallas Connect Program Assoiciate through BBYO, and all sorts of positions at the JCC of Dallas.

While Ethan did not attend GFC, he was a staff member and Program Director at Camp Chai, a JCC Day Camp in Dallas, and most recently was an Assistant Director of the Counselor in Training program for the JCC camps at Medford. He is looking forward to his first summer at Greene.

Currently, Ethan is the Director of Youth Engagement at Temple Emanuel in Cherry Hill, NJ, where he advises their Elementary, Junior and Senior Youth Groups (including one that is a member of NFTY-PAR), runs their Religious School, helps teens plan and supervise teen High Holiday services for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, works with Temple Emanuel’s Mental Health and Wellness task-force where he discusses mental health topics with teens. He even helps keep alumni engaged through their College Connection program.

Ethan is very passionate about year-round youth engagement, and brings an enthusiastic outside perspective to the role.  He will be working with many of our communities and congregations in Dallas on year-round youth engagement, while also having a hand in our summer program. In addition, Ethan will be responsible for several of our year-round programs.

Ethan will begin on January 1st. We are so looking forward to welcoming him back to Texas as a new member of the Greene Family Camp community.
