Tonight, the lights of our hanukkiyah will shine at their brightest. As you feel the warmth of the candles and watch their glow, we invite you to celebrate the last night of Hanukkah, camp style.

Just as the shamash (helper candle) brings light to all the others, you can be that light in your community. At camp, we learn that leadership takes many forms, and tonight is the perfect time to live that value at home.

Hanukkah reminds us that even a small flame can brighten the darkest night. You can be that spark by giving back to those around you. Here are some simple ways for people of any age to start:

  • Volunteer at an organization that means something to you, like an animal shelter or food pantry

  • Donate books or toys to a local school or organization

  • Call someone who is sick

  • Plant a tree or flowers

  • Do something kind for a friend, parent, or neighbor

As we close this season of light, we also look ahead. Just as you give back to your community, you can help ensure that Camp continues to be a place where young people grow into beacons of light.

Your gift tonight will help campers navigate today’s challenges while carrying forward the values of Hanukkah, hope, resilience, and generosity, into their own lives and communities.

Be the Shamash, spread light this Hanukkah

Thank you for celebrating Hanukkah with us!

L’Shalom,
The Greene Team
