Add a little camp to your holiday celebrations! Below are eight ways to have a very GFC Hanukkah.

1. Treat every candle lighting like a camp birthday. After lighting the candles, skip around the room as many times as the number of candles lit. Then treat yourself to some cookie cake, or better yet, sufganiyot (jelly donuts).

2. Sing your favorite campfire songs around the menorah. Bring Your Lexus to Bruceville, Texas sounds even better around the flames of the Hanukkah candles.

3. Give an experiential present this holiday season. Give the gift of camp or one of our year-round programs. We suggest the gift of our ski trip to Winter Park, CO for our high school students.

4. Celebrate with your favorite camp foods. In order to properly honor the miracle of the oil lasting eight nights, indulge in some of your favorite fried camp-style foods: fried okra, french fries, and our favorite, fried chicken.

5. We’ve all heard of Hanukkah Harry, or for those Friends fans out there, the Holiday Armadillo, but don’t forget about Hanukkah GFrogC! Our beloved mascot brings holiday joy all year round, not just at Hanukkah, but we hear he’s a big fan of the holiday!

6. Send some Hanukkah love to your best camp friends, whether that be through a post on Instagram, an e-card or present.

7. Find three friends and have a Dreidel Maccabiah. Using a red, green, blue and yellow dreidels, compete not only for the title of Maccabiah champ, but dreidel victor.

8. Reflect on the miracle of lights and the miracle of camp. Both last only a short while, but the fun and spirit of both last all year long.
