Happy night six of Hanukkah from GFC! We’re back to share another great way to celebrate at home, camp style.
Tonight, bring the deliciousness of a GFC Shabbat dinner into your home with our highly regarded Shabbat schnitzel!
Nothing says camp quite like Shabbat dinner, and this Hanukkah you can bring the magic of camp into your very own kitchen! Try our famous GFC Shabbat Sha-Schnitzel recipe:
You’ll need:
- 2 chicken breasts (cut in half & pounded thin)
- Flour mix: ¼ cup flour, 2 tbsp garlic salt, 2 tsp paprika, 1 tsp black pepper
- Egg wash: 4 eggs + 1 cup water
- 2 cups of panko breadcrumbs
- Olive oil for frying
Steps:
- Set up 3 stations: flour mix, egg wash, and panko or breadcrumbs.
- Coat chicken in flour mix, dip in egg, then cover with panko. Let it chill for 20 minutes in the fridge.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet. Cook chicken 4 minutes per side until golden & crispy (165°F inside).
- Sprinkle with salt, serve, and enjoy!
At camp we love to eat our schnitzel with hummus and finish it off with our favorite treat, Shabbat sha-brownies. As we say at camp, b’tayavon (enjoy your meal)!
We hope you enjoy a taste of camp this Hanukkah! Tag us on social media to share your camp-style plate! @urjgfc
