In the aftermath of the devastating shooting in Parkland, FL, NFTY and the URJ, our Reform Jewish teens and adults, have acted quickly to mobilize for change. Yesterday, on the one-month anniversary of the shooting, students across the country participated in school walkouts and continue to prepare for March 24 and its “March for Our Lives” events across the country.

Reform Jewish teens and young adults in our GFC and NFTY-TOR community are joining congregations across the region are following the lead of our youth and organizing with them in “March for Our Lives” marches across our region. We as a camp community are proud to partner in these efforts to amplify the voices of our youth. Below is information for gatherings in our region. We hope that you and your family can join us at these events or at events in your local community as part of the Reform Jewish Movement’s response to gun violence.

March for Our Lives: Austin

March for Our Lives: Dallas

Join with youth across the DFW area at Temple Emanu El at 11AM for programming and sign up to for the March for Our Lives bus and travel together!

March for Our Lives: Houston

Meet at Sam Houston Park at the Corner of Bagby & Lamar at 8:15AM. A limited number of signs will be available (feel free to bring your own too), learn, sing, and pray together. At 8:50AM the group will walk to join the March at Tranquility Park.

Travel to the march by light rail with Congregation Emanu El. Parking is available in the West Lot at the synagogue, and the group will walk to the light rail at 8:00AM. If you have questions, please contact Jill, jillp@emanuelhouston.org.
