Upon hearing of the recent illness and subsequent death of Shimon Peres, my mind and heart has been flooded with memories of a very precious time in my life. My memories fade as I age, and I don’t recall specific details, but I do remember the feeling, the emotion, and the sensation of being in a room with Shimon Peres.

The Summer of L’Dor V’dor
For me, this was the summer of L’Dor, V’dor. My daughter, Dani, recently returned from five weeks in Eastern Europe and Israel on Garin Greene’s “L’Dor V’Dor” trip. As you might expect, it was the trip of a lifetime.
A Short Reminder from A Kohanim Camper
Camp is great but we all know it isn’t forever. Enjoy the last few days of camp, and let it go out with a boom. As our time slides through our fingers like the water at Hawaiian Falls, we realize camp is as unique as the talent show.
I Believe I Can Fly
Last Thursday night, while most Niviimers were asleep, Cabin D’s beds were empty. Why, you may ask? Because here at camp sometimes amazing opportunities call for a delay in bedtime. My campers were lucky enough to interact with a man named Matan Koch, and to watch him fly.
Now Miles Away, GFC Still Home
My letters home from camp read something like this: “Dear Mom and Dad, Camp is really great. I never knew there were so many Jewish people! Shabbat is pretty. I have a good friend here. Bye!”
Becoming Better Leaders: NFTY-TOR does Mechina
Earlier this summer, the NFTY-TOR regional board and delegates traveled from the great state of Texas to the beautiful URJ Kutz camp in Warwick, New York for NFTY Mechina 2016. At Mechina, the delegations of the nineteen regions of NFTY come together to learn, educate, and of course have fun!
