We have standardized payment deadlines across all URJ campers, to create a more uniform policy.

Upon enrollment $500 deposit per camper is due (or full tuition for Machar).

1st installment 150 days prior to Camp’s first session start date (1/15/26), 33% of tuition payment is due.

2nd installment 90 days prior to Camp’s first session start date (3/16/26), an additional 33% of tuition payment is due (66% of tuition paid).

3rd installment 60 days prior to Camp’s first session start date (4/15/26), final payment is due.

If your family registers after one or more of these deadlines have passed, you will be responsible for the tuition percentage that reflects the current date.

Camperships (Financial Aid) & First-Time Camper Incentive

We do not want the financial expense of camp to be the reason that your camper cannot attend for the summer. We believe that every camper is the most important person in the world, and we want to help make camp a reality for you and your camper.

We are pleased to offer partial, need-based financial support or “camperships” for Summer 2026. Your application will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning in December.

First-time campers in our full session (23-night) programs are eligible for a one-time, non-need based $1,000 grant from One Happy Camper. Learn more on our Campership page on the ‘Campership Checklist’.

Please visit our Campership page for information on how you can receive financial aid for your camper’s summer tuition.

Safety, Releases, Authorizations

Camper Safety
The URJ Camp Community remains committed to ensuring the most robust child protection practices, fostering an environment of prevention, protection, and support for raising concerns.

  • We partner with various youth protection and safety experts to collaborate in preparing and providing our intensive staff training for abuse prevention, and every member of our camp staff undergoes training in how to prevent, recognize, respond to, and report abuse.
  • Every URJ Camp staff member must pass annual background checks and are required to participate in annual anti-harassment and discrimination training, as well as trainings in mandatory reporting, workplace guidelines, and diversity, equity, and inclusion training.
  • Camps are MANDATED REPORTERS of child abuse.
    • If a camper reports harm of physical, sexual, or emotional nature (whether at home, outside of camp, or at camp), staff is required to report concerns to the appropriate authorities.
    • URJ Camp staff are trained to connect with those who are trained to investigate and handle these types of situations — and it is required by law.
    • Camp staff must report to required authorities without contacting parents/guardians in advance and must follow guidance from authorities.
  • Should Parents/Guardians ever have any concerns about this or any policy, or knowledge of child safety or misconduct issues, now or in the future, or that have taken place in the past, they should not hesitate to reach out to Missy Johnson, Vice President, People & Culture, report@urj.org, (212) 650-4120.
