Greene Family Camp Summer 2019 Registration IS NOW OPEN! If you register before the end of September, you can save up to $200 on your camp tuition. This means that you could register for Summer 2019 for LESS than a full-priced session in Summer 2018.
While we are preparing for next summer, we want to let you know about some exciting changes taking place:We are introducing GFC SciTech – A STEAM Unit at Greene, an incredible 12 day program for current 6th and 7th grade campers. This session will feature one of our most popular programs, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), combined with all the other great camp activities, culture, and Jewish life that make GFC such a special place. This year, in addition to this new program, we are also creating a new, state-of-the-art STEAM Center at GFC to house it. More info to come!
Campers will choose a focus within the STEAM field while still participating in the full camp experience. A typical day could include robot building, coding, an afternoon rocket launch, free swim and an early evening climb up the Alpine Tower. The Sci Tech campers will get to see camp through their unique lens focused on the subjects they love. Check out more information about SciTech and the dates of the program on our website.
The Avodah (Counselor in Training) Program – As many of you know, members of our Avodah program (current 11th graders) have traditionally been required to attend a full summer program. We understand this has been challenging for some participants as they may have other commitments with their families or schools through the summer. This year, we are excited to announce a single session option for the Avodah program. Avodahnikim can choose to sign up for Session One, Session Two, or the Full Summer. Those attending the full summer will receive a generous discount that includes the traditional intersession Avodah trip. Those signing up for a single session program can choose to add on the trip to their session. Check out more information about Avodah and the dates of the program on our website.
Session One Start Date Due to the Festival of Shavuot falling on the Sunday we would traditionally open camp, we are moving our Opening Day for Session One to Monday, June 10, 2019. Shavuot is one of the holiest days on our Jewish calendar, celebrating the Torah, Jewish education, and our active participation in Jewish life. Learn more about Shavuot! While we still encourage parents to drop off their campers on opening day, we do understand the complications this unique weekday opening causes and we will offer buses from the Houston and Dallas areas, based on interest.
Stay tuned for more! 2019 is a BIG year for us! We’re building new facilities and renovating existing buildings all around camp, listening to your feedback and improving upon things from food to program to communication, and we are looking forward to our best summer ever. Follow along on social media and check your e-mail for more information coming about Summer 2019. We look forward to seeing you and your family back in Bruceville soon!
